# DDoS Protection

DigitalFyre's network includes always-on DDoS mitigation designed to protect your services during common volumetric and protocol-based attacks.

## What Is Included

Baseline DDoS protection is included with every bare metal server at no additional cost. The mitigation operates at the network level, filtering malicious traffic before it reaches your server.

This protection handles most common attack types and keeps your server online during typical DDoS events.

## Enhanced Protection

For high-risk environments or services that are frequent DDoS targets, enhanced protection plans are available with higher mitigation capacity and more aggressive filtering profiles.

## What This Does Not Cover

Baseline DDoS protection is designed for standard production workloads. It is not intended for services that are subject to sustained, high-volume attacks as part of their normal operation (e.g., DDoS-for-hire targets, high-profile game servers under constant attack).

If your use case involves elevated DDoS risk, discuss this with DigitalFyre during the ordering process so the appropriate protection level can be provisioned from the start.

## Your Responsibility

While DigitalFyre provides network-level mitigation, you are responsible for application-level security on your server. This includes properly configuring firewalls, rate limiting, and keeping your software up to date.
