# Auto Renew

Auto-renewal generates a renewal invoice automatically before your domain expires, ensuring uninterrupted registration.

## Toggling Auto Renew

    Open your domain's management page from the **My Domains** list.

    Click **Auto Renew** in the left sidebar and toggle the **Auto Renewal Status** switch on or off.

You can also toggle auto-renew directly from the **My Domains** list without opening the domain's management page.

## How It Works

| Status       | Behavior                                                                                                                                                           |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Enabled**  | A renewal invoice is generated and sent before the expiry date. If a valid payment method is on file, the invoice is paid automatically and the domain is renewed. |
| **Disabled** | No renewal invoice is generated. You are responsible for manually renewing the domain before it expires.                                                           |

## Expired Domains

If a domain expires, there is typically a 30-day grace period during which it can still be renewed. The exact grace period depends on the TLD.

  Do not rely on grace periods. Once a domain expires, DNS resolution stops, and any services tied to the domain (website, email) will go down. Some TLDs have shorter grace periods, and redemption after the grace period may incur additional fees or be impossible. Keeping auto-renewal enabled is the safest way to avoid accidental expiration.
