Session Locked to a Different IP
The iKVM console locks each session to the IP address that initiated it. If your IP address changes mid-session (e.g., due to a VPN disconnect, ISP rotation, or a network switch), the session will terminate. Fix: Ensure your IP is stable, then launch a new iKVM session. If you are on a VPN, verify the VPN connection is stable before opening the console.Browser Compatibility
The iKVM console runs in the browser via TenantOS. If the console does not load or displays rendering issues:- Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
- Disable browser extensions that may interfere (ad blockers, privacy extensions)
- Clear your browser cache and try again
- Ensure JavaScript is enabled
Console Shows Black Screen
A black screen in the iKVM console can mean:- Server is powered off — Check the Power Status on your product details page. Power on the server if needed.
- Server is booting — Wait for the boot process to complete. BIOS/UEFI initialization can take a moment on bare metal hardware.
- Display not active — Some server configurations or operating systems disable console output. Try pressing a key or moving the mouse in the console to wake the display.
- OS has crashed — If the server is powered on but shows nothing, try a Reset Server from the Power Control tab.
Console Disconnects Repeatedly
Frequent disconnections are typically caused by:- Unstable network connection — The session requires a steady connection to your current IP. Test your local network stability.
- IP address changes — Sessions are IP-locked. Dynamic IPs or load-balanced proxies will cause disconnections.
- Idle timeout — Sessions may time out after a period of inactivity. Interact with the console periodically to keep the session alive.
Cannot Type or Input Not Registering
If the console displays the server’s screen but keyboard or mouse input is not being received:- Click inside the console window to ensure it has focus
- Check if your browser has captured the keyboard (some browsers require you to click into an embedded console)
- Try a different browser
