How It Works
SpamExperts filters email in two stages:- SMTP-level checks — Evaluates sender behavior, reputation, and authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) before the message body is received
- Content analysis — Scans message content, headers, attachments, and URLs for spam, phishing, malware, and other threats
Services
Incoming Filtering
Scans all inbound email and quarantines threats before they reach your mail server. Includes spam quarantine with digest reports, delivery logs, allow/block lists, and mail continuity (queues email if your server is temporarily offline).Outgoing Filtering
Scans outbound email to prevent spam, viruses, or compromised accounts from damaging your domain’s sending reputation. Helps keep your IP addresses off blacklists.Outbound filtering requires configuring a custom SMTP address in your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, etc.) to route outgoing mail through SpamExperts. Webmail interfaces (OX Webmail, SOGo) are not compatible with outbound filtering. Mailcow users can request outbound filtering via a custom router — contact support for setup.
Email Archiving (Add-on)
Stores all inbound and outbound email in encrypted, tamper-proof storage with full-text search and fast retrieval. Useful for legal compliance, backup, and disaster recovery.Ordering

- Dangerous attachment types (
.exe,.dll,.bat,.lnk,.scr,.vbs, etc.) are blocked by default. The default maximum attachment size is 30 MB.
