Keeping WordPress, themes, and plugins up to date is one of the most important things you can do to keep your site secure. The WordPress Toolkit makes this easy.

Updating Manually

Go to WordPress

Log in to Plesk and click WordPress in the left sidebar.

Check for Updates

Your WordPress installations are listed on this page. Any available updates are shown with an Update badge.

Apply Updates

Click Update next to the item you want to update, or use Update All to apply all available updates at once.

Enabling Auto-Updates

Open the Installation

In the WordPress Toolkit, click on the WordPress site you want to configure.

Go to Updates

Click the Updates tab.

Configure Auto-Update Settings

Enable automatic updates for:
  • WordPress core — recommended to set to minor versions at minimum
  • Plugins — recommended enabled
  • Themes — recommended enabled

Save

Click Save to apply.
Auto-updates can occasionally cause compatibility issues between plugins and themes. Consider enabling staging to test updates before applying them to your live site.
