The Client Portal allows you to reset two types of credentials for your VPS: your VirtFusion panel password and your server’s root or Administrator password.

Resetting a Password

1

Go to Your VPS Service Page

Log in to console.digitalfyre.com and navigate to your VPS.
2

Locate the Password Reset Section

Find the password reset option on your service page.
3

Select the Credential Type

Choose which password to reset:
  • VirtFusion Panel — resets your login to fusion.digitalfyre.com
  • Root / Administrator — resets the root (Linux/BSD) or Administrator (Windows) password on the server itself
4

Confirm

A new password is generated automatically. You can optionally have it sent to your email address on file.

When to Use Each

VirtFusion panel password — if you cannot log in to VirtFusion directly. Note that Single Sign-On from the Client Portal bypasses this entirely and is the recommended access method. Root / Administrator password — if you have forgotten your server credentials or suspect they have been compromised.
Resetting the root or Administrator password takes effect immediately. Existing SSH or RDP sessions will continue to work, but new connections will require the new password. Update any saved credentials in your SSH client or password manager.
