blog.example.com or shop.example.com.
Creating a Subdomain
Enter the Subdomain Name
Enter the prefix only — for example, enter
blog to create blog.example.com. The document root will be set automatically.Notes
- Subdomains use the same nameservers as the parent domain — no additional DNS changes are needed.
- Each subdomain gets its own document root folder, so files are kept separate from the main domain.
- You can install an SSL certificate on a subdomain the same way as a primary domain. See Installing a Free Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate.
