A domain alias (also called a parked domain) lets you point one or more additional domain names to an existing website. Visitors to the alias domain will see the same content as on the primary domain.

Common Use Cases

  • You own multiple TLD variations of your domain (e.g., example.net, example.org) and want them all to load the same site
  • You are rebranding and want an old domain to continue working

Adding a Domain Alias

1

Go to Websites & Domains

Log in to Plesk and click Websites & Domains in the left sidebar.
2

Select Your Domain

Find the primary domain (the one with the actual website files) and click Domain Aliases beneath it.
3

Add an Alias

Click Add Domain Alias.
4

Enter the Alias Domain

Type the additional domain name you want to point to this site.
5

Confirm

Click OK. The alias will be added.
The alias domain must already have its nameservers pointed to DigitalFyre before it will resolve correctly. See Pointing Your Domain to Our Nameservers.

Alias vs. Redirect

A domain alias serves the same content under both domain names. If you want the alias domain to redirect visitors to the primary domain instead (better for SEO), contact our support team to set up a redirect.
