The Plesk File Manager lets you manage your website files directly from your browser — no FTP client required.

Opening the File Manager

1

Go to Files

Log in to Plesk and click Files in the left sidebar.
2

Select Your Domain

If you have multiple domains, navigate to the correct document root. For most domains this is httpdocs/ under your domain folder.

Common Tasks

Uploading Files Click Upload in the toolbar, then select the files from your computer. For large numbers of files, uploading a .zip archive and extracting it in the File Manager is faster. Creating and Editing Files Right-click any file and select Edit to open it in the built-in code editor. This is useful for quick edits to configuration files or HTML. Creating Folders Click New Directory in the toolbar, enter a name, and click OK. Extracting Archives Right-click a .zip or .tar.gz file and select Extract to unpack it in place. Deleting Files Select one or more files, then click Remove in the toolbar. Deletions are permanent — there is no recycle bin in the File Manager.
Always take a backup before deleting or overwriting files. Use JetBackup if you need to recover a previous version.

File Permissions

To change permissions on a file or folder, right-click it and select Change Permissions. See Setting File & Folder Permissions for guidance on recommended permission values.
